A thirst for knowledge in midlife has afforded me the luxury of being-self reflective and self-aware. I breath and live what Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote: "To laugh often, and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a redeemed social condition, or a job well done; to know even one other life has breathed because you lived this is to have succeeded "
While motherhood is my ultimate success, empty-nesterhood has allowed me the opportunity to explore marketing and sales opportunities from running successful galleries, to working on various art licensing deals. My most rewarding project to date was creating "Painting For Paws" for the Washington Animal Rescue League, which raises awareness of pets in need of adoption starting with elementary school students. I am honored to become the Program Director of the O Street Museum Foundation. It could not be more perfect, because it allows me the freedom to be, me -- and helps others in the process, Including Painting for Paws!
